百年校钟,全名为“百年校庆纪念钟”,铸成于 2005 年,由北京校友会为母校而捐赠,目前悬挂于东校区公主楼广场中央。大钟采用现代先进技术设计,形状古朴大气,声音浑厚悠长。百年校庆后,新年夜敲钟倒计时成为校园的别样风景。这口百年校钟重达 1200 公斤,钟体通高 1.5 米,下口直径 1.2 米。大钟宫格之间铸有“农科大学”老校门浮雕,另一面铸有龙字浮雕,下沿铸有古老的犁铧。钟体表面铸刻有 432 个字的四言铭文,铭文由北京大学教授白化文先生撰文、吴小如先生书丹,记录和反映着中国农业大学百年发展的历程。
Introduction to Works
The Centennial School Bell, fully named "Centennial school anniversary commemorative clock", was cast in 2005 and is donated by the Beijing Alumni Association for the Alma Mater, currently hanging in the center of Princess Building Square in the east campus. The large clock is designed with modern advanced technology, with a simple and atmospheric shape and a rich and melodious voice. After the 100th anniversary of the school, the countdown to the New Year's Eve bell has become a unique style on campus scenery. This century old school clock weighs 1200 kilograms, with a body height of 1.5 meters and a lower diameter of 1.2 meters. There is a relief sculpture of the old gate of "Agricultural University" cast between the large bell and palace grids, and a relief sculpture of the dragon character cast on the other side, with an ancient plowshare cast on the lower edge. The surface of the clock body is engraved with a four character inscription of 432 characters, written by Professor Bai Huawen of Peking University and written by Mr. Wu Xiaoru, which records and reflects the development process of China Agricultural University over the past century.
