The statue of Chairman Mao is located in front of the main building square in the East Campus. It was first built in the spring of 1968 by teachers such as Xu Yifei, Bi Wengan, Feng Biaojun, who used Chairman Mao's photos in Beidaihe as a blueprint to mold, inlay, polish... After nearly half a year of hard work day and night, they built by self molding. Chairman Mao stood with his hands on his back, his windbreaker naturally fluttering, his eyes shining brightly, and his image dignified and majestic. Due to the good quality of the model, some universities or municipal units have borrowed from the school after the completion of the statue to model replication. In addition, when designing and constructing sculptures, full reference should be made to the silhouette of the school's main building to determine the external scale and shape. The design takes into account the depth of field, height, and other coordinated elements of the main building for each size to achieve a good visual effect. More than 30 years have quietly passed, and the campus landscape has undergone earthshaking changes. The statue of Chairman Mao still stands tall, becoming an important imprint in the memories of teachers and students on campus.
